    Rossi/Ducati rift denied

Valentino Rossi and Ducati’s camps are denying a possible split following the former World Champion’s outburst after the Qatar MotoGP.

Rossi called the Desmosedici “unrideable”, saying he cannot brake hard into the corners. But with rumours of a terminal breakdown of the relationship between the two, denials have been issued on both sides. Rossi said “We will keep trying at every race. I will stay with Ducati”. Ducati CEO Gabriele del Torchio added “Valentino was just letting off steam. It is too early to talk of a divorce.”

To early for talk of a divorce suggests talk of a divorce is being considered.

He may have complained about it, but he never used it as an excuse...

    Not really.
Complaining: "Ow, my shoulder is sore."
Excuse: "Ow, my shoulder is sore, Rossi cut me off, my suit was at the cleaners and I am Australian, and that's why I didn't win..."

A subtle difference, but clear none the less..

I'm probably just another victim of clever marketting (again) but I never pegged him for a whinger. Frankly I'd of though if he can't win on it then its a real dog....

Which makes Stoner even more of an enigma.
The greatest rider of this generation (Rossi) can’t make it work, and neither could most of his predecessors, but Stoner won on it.

Its pretty fucking obvious there is a rift somewhere, how was he doing before Ducati? and how is he going now? Not saying that ducs are shit, but it certainly isn't how Rossi needs it to be, and vice versa. Go back to Yamaha and duke it out with Lorenzo, would at least make for good watching

Stoners bike and rossis bikes were different animals , you might find em narrowing the V engine ,

I was surprised that the new chassis hasn’t work so well , off the bat ,,,early days yet ...if by mid season it still ain’t working

I would expect rossi to bail !

I've had some interesting discussions about that (I pretty much listened while others gave their theories). From an unbiased persons view, look at the people that are doing well on the Yamaha now. From what I was told it was a bit of a pig years back, but certain riders have made it a great bike for many.

As opposed to the Duc. From what I've heard/read/seen pretty much only one rider has developed that bike but only one rider can be successful on it.

Stoner has developed a bike for himself. Rossi and others have developed a bike for everyone. I haven't decided if it's Stoner's intention or not.

Firstly...a lot of the 'development' on race bikes is done by the factory's 'development riders' not the racers. Seondly...it's not as if Stoner has been the only 'factory' rider on the Ducati the whole time is it? Capirossi? Hayden? Melandri? So not like he was the only guy giving the factory input eh? Have you not read Stoner saying that he (like Rossi is saying now) never got from the factory what he was always asking for?
