I may need to carry a 5L with me.

Last time I made it from Reefton ,over the plateau to westyport and back round the highway to Murch on about 12L or less than 200km of range .
The tank ran dry on the bridge into Murch and I coasted to the pumps without needing the brakes to stop
9am Richmond .... maybe I can do this from home and back in one day, better put the swingarm back on and change that tyre.

Oh, and allow a bit of gas to ride that sealed bit from Denniston down to the coast and back ...be silly not to ride up and down that hill.

Checked distances - servo in Murch to top Denniston incline is 65 kms add 20kms for the round trip up Mt Rochfort so 150 kms return to Murch - I will have a couple of litres in a can as well - see you in the morning.

Yep, I'll leave from here mabe 6.30 should give me time to get to Richmond with a bit of time to spare.
