i still haven't joined any of you guys on a ride yet... if the weather is ok I may pop up and meet you on the way... plus getting a pass from the missus (don't know if she has plans yet... her parents are visiting... which is even more of a reason to join you)
done this route a few months back solo... 660kms from west auckland... a day to remember
i'm on a red aprilia... may see you at caltex dairy flat... will update this in a few days to definite or not

right i'm attending... looking forward to attending a ride out... haven't ridden with anyone since arriving here last July...![]()
If anybody new"ish" is watching the thread I can tell you there is a fast through the corners group and a more sedate group forming.
Like i said in the original post - just find your spot in the group and enjoy the day - but rest assured if you are fast or slow (like me) there will definately be a place for you to not over extend yourself or be bored by the pace.

I am taking a hi-end photo-camera to record our exploit. I also wanna take a tripod to take a group photo, but I don't have a place for it in my backpack.
Does anybody of you, who have spare place in their topbox/panniers can fit a metal tripod about 40-50cm long/2kg?
If it's only a group photo, then put it on one of the bikes... Otherwise I suppose I can measure... wasn't planning on taking panniers tho.
