Ok so I have a confession to make, I have totally fucked up my dates....it is mothers day 6/5 this means my beautiful Tayla is with me Saturday arvo and all of Sunday, an additional fuck up on my part is my bike is in the shop and all I can do is cross my fingers hoping she will be ready by Thursday .

so......my new plan - assuming my bike is ready I will definitely head to Anne and Mark's Thursday night, meet you all Friday and stay at camp Friday night, ride with you Saturday but may have to head back early depending on how we go for time.

I won't be riding Sunday, but if no-one has any objection I will bring Tay out to camp on Saturday night. Feel free to PM me if you would prefer me not to bring Tay as its a adults let loose type trip and I totally understand any objections

Um what else, I probably need to be replaced as a lead rider!
Sunday is just 'Ride home which ever way you want to' day...
And on the children front? As long as Base Camp does not turn into a Creche then all good...
    See ya Thurday.

    Food Plan

The $10 per person worked well in Taupo...got 18 Pizzas for dinner and enough beans/bread/eggs/hash browns and bacon to feed 25 the next morning with a couple of $$'s left over.

I am unsure of the total numbers for friday/Saturday night...this bit has been hard to keep up with. some are staying some are not some are turning up later some are just riding on the saturday etc...
Going to have to wing this bit....but there is a really cool Supermarket in Ruakaka and Chip shop, which is what we will probably do for the Friday night...Chips/Sausages/Bread.
Stephen might come in handy then with his top box...
We'll have a talk about it at the lunch stop on Friday.

Cooking?....the main bitch wont be at the camp till later on friday night..but we have a b-b-q in the Caravan and there are stove tops 10 paces away in the newly built kitchen.

Just wire tie a tin of baked beans to you exhaust. By the time we get there they will be perfect. Sorted.

No problemo. I can fit a 30pack of coke cans in there with room to spare. That'll hold a lot of chips.

Guess that blows the 3kg top box weight limit out the window.

Mine is rated to 10kg and in practice easily supports a few extra kg for supermarket trips.

    What year?
It's a '96 ... first reg'd in NZ in '98 ... speedo reads Miles so must be a US import I guess .. it actually belongs to my brother who is working on OZ at the moment, and kindly said I could "borrow it occasionally" :-)

    Cheers Bro!

So, I have to pull out of this ride last minute, sorry guys, I found out I have to have all my things moved out of my place in Hamilton by Sunday to make room for the next flatmate to move in...

Seems like this one just wasn't meant to be for me.
