I would prefer to got to an organised track day as its cheaper and i can get given advice and such.
well, grab a club membership 40 buck a year then its 50 for half a day open track, its very casual. Someone out there will sign as ur spotter or just take a mate out. You get an epic amount of track time, and its much cheaper than a organized track day and it wont be crowded etc..

u live in chch, just go out on a tues or friday and have a look what its about before u dismiss it, plenty of ppl out there will give u advice on bike setup/lines/riding etc

I don't really pay much attention to people who irritate me so I'm not sure which R1

That's not much of a reccomendation as you set a fairly low standard anyway

    It's true he really is

I watched in my mirrors ( Busa has outstanding mirrors!) from when I hit the bottom of the Hilltop, Cooptown side, I am going up the hill at a fast cruise, just my normal pace in the real world, I keep an eye on this guy as he is all over the road and passing cars in really dumb places, stamping on the brakes and giving it handfulls off them, tried to make him pass me a couple of times, unsuccessfully, over the top and going down I stick it in the slow lane and yay! he goes past and I go back to my fast cruise, not hard on the brakes, useing lines I choose to and progressive rollon the gas so my ride is smooth, controlled and fun, not an intensive workout in fear management.

Only trouble was, my rate of progress was such that I had to watch this guy passing cars going into blind left handers accross the bonnet turning in. I had to watch this guy going in on the centreline passing cars on the brakes into blind right handers. I had to watch this guy frequently useing both sides of the road to go around corners. On one of the downhill straights, he passed a car that would have held him up for a couple of corners, fair enough......... maybe not for the car coming past going up the hill level with the two of them......

I have to pass the same cars, but manage to do it without risking my neck or theirs, I manage to do it without acually looking like I am racing on the limits, but somehow am unable to keep from being able to see the pending tradgedy racing before me. I am not actually going stupid fast.

I roll along the marine parade in Akaroa as he is getting off his bike, and get the "nod" as if we were mates back in the pits after the chequered flag. He gets only a sad resigned shake of the head in return, as I head back to Little River to get an icecream and enjoy the afternoon sun.

The Akaroa cop hates us, hard to blame him.

What I do not get is why this type of rider rides on the road in a closed environment like he is after Rossi's Ducati ride, yet doesn't jump on the track and show us how fast he is in a place without the random variables.

The people who race in the real world, tend not to have the skills to get out of trouble without a healthy dose of luck, riding at mega pace does not equall mega skill. Why Why Why!

come on fella, maybe if you keep lookin at whats going on in front of you and not in ya mirrors ya mite have had a better ride,
there were no dodgy or dangerous overtaking done by me, i sat behind you untill it was good to pass as i didnt wanna do anything dodgy on the hills tryin to get passed you as it wasnt a race. i was just out havin some fun

, but next time someone is clearly faster than you and you know they wanna get past, the nice thing to do is pull slightly to the left and let them. not sit in the middle of the road and not let them pass..
it was only at the hill top that you pulled over and thats when i passed you,.
so maybe you shouldn go makin up stories on here to make yourself look good or someone else look bad..
oh yeah by the way the whole ride ride was filmed with my helmet cam and all it shows is a slow fat busa taking up all the road..

and it was sooo sad when you shock ya head at me in akaroam i even let out a lil wee tear and thought "does he not wanna be my friend"...hahaha,
