We have the same problem here as our kids are entered as a school team but play in the NB Assoc League. They play not at school grounds but the "Official" Courts..we are subjected to undercooked sausages that are from repossessed dog roll, onions that are fried beyond fried and coffee that I'm sure the water has just been taken straight from the creek and sugar added and no coffee as the colour is right but the taste is awful. We are not allowed to sell food on "Official" rounds as they have competent suppliers on site...(beg to differ)...What we have done is organised a fundraiser BBQ after the game using the Meat Export Warehouse and handed flyers to all on the courts and supplied coffee FOC!....
Your picture's in my wallet and I'm sitting on it. And if that isn't love, I don't know what is

Cripes I dunno Mashie. I've spent many hours on fund-raising BBQs outside the Warehouse etc and they can be good earners but lots of work. The latest food safety regs kinda knock that on the head although every council has its own local interpretation. Councils don't want to be heavy-handed with volunteer groups but they can't have people getting sick either.

All I can suggest is use gloves and paper towels and get a permit.

The vendor who caused you grief probably earns $25k in a good year and is desperate to keep his place. I know a guy who did this and he made zero year on year, but loved cooking food for rallies and events. He was lucky enough to be subsidised by his understanding family.

Love that idea... shame everyone sprints for their cars once the game is over. Not sure how many teams play but they're at it from 8:30 til 16:00 and they must make a small fortune... shame it is subject to such stoopid rules eh. Fortunately there'll be a licensed vendor there in case people get hungry. It'll be interesting to see the outcome as some of the families "affected" are lawyers... and we all know what a, erm, lovely bunch of people they are

Give the sausages away free, then charge people to cook the sausages that they now own.

I'd give the local council a call and find out what's involved to get a permit. It might be as simple as reading a bit of paper and parting with some cash.

Other than pissing me off coz me can't get no practice at not turning meat into charcoal brickette, it annoys the shit out of me because it raises funds for the schools taking part.

So, bush lawyers, if I rock up with a bag of snaggers and sell them raw, can I then offer to cook them for free on my BBQ and I might even throw in a hot dog roll and some sauce? What say thee?
Is this guy even a Kiwi and does he know there is nothing more Kiwi than a suasage sizzle to raise a few pingers for the kids?

Does the priest come along to the BBQ to bugger the young boys, or is that just limited to church ceremonies?
