I have a bread maker, so I know a little bit about how yeast works.

    Nothing further

You'd be a lot better off just buying a fermenter, wash hydrometer, airlock, airlock grommet and stirring spoon. Buy some Coopers homebrew kits from Pak n Save, then dry hop with hop pellets or dried hops.

It's a scam. For a decent brew it will take at least 3 months from start to finish.
Hahahahahahahaaaaaaa! Ahhahahahahhaaaaaaa! Dude's 3rd brew with one of these and he wins a gold at the asia beer awards.

Those are merely slightly alcoholic, sparkling pond water and are unworthy of being called "beer". FFS, Tui markets itself as being an ale when it's in fact a lager. It's unfortunate that most people these days are unaware of what makes a good beer, and keep falling for the marketing propaganda because they believe this crap is good beer. Same goes for Speights Gold Medal ale and all the other cheap, nasty crap that's forced upon us by the brew companies who feed on peoples ignorance.

Some of the small NZ craft breweries make very good beer, try them next time you're in a supermarket. They're not cheap, however. I do also quite like some of the Harrington's beer. BTW, decent beer generally does not come in a 12 pack.

I can't help myself ... sorry, part of my job involves analysis:

    From their FAQ
    Price is $5660
Average store bought is $22 per doz 330ml
Cost of this product is $7.45 per doz 330ml

So If one was to buy one of these to save money on store bought (and I appreciate that many homebrewers brew for other reasons)
it's 389 dozen until you break even which is 6.39 years assuming you drink 2 x 330ml every day of the year.

Not making any point ... just saying.

    As you were.

Didn't bother to ask. I'd be lucky to drink half that much in the next 30 years so ... Mr Montieth's shop-bought brews will do me.

Of course it's around the $3k mark.
Very interesting indeed thanks for posting that, is that what you use?

I was planning on getting something like this set up...when I can afford it.

I wish, too steep for me.
I use a 55l chilly bin as a mash tun and a 50l stock pot for the boil.

The important thing is that you are doing full mash brewing, not just extract.
