Best resale?

What do you think would fetch the best resale if I sold the bike sometime down the track?

The Kolorinn Kustoms Candy ghost flames paint scheme (I've had a quote and am happy with the cost)
or
Green retro

Can't decide for myself which I like the best so thought I'd take into account resale value and see if that swings me one way or another.

If it were me buying it I would prefer the Retro Green, but that's just me, I'm not an expert.

Maybe not an expert but you are riding a similar vintage bike so your opinion counts even more so.

Retro Green will attract more buyers,
Candy ghost will attract the questions " why the repaint, when was it dropped, has it been thrashed"

Manufactures spend a lot of money and time deciding what colour scheme suits their machine for the year it is sold new.
A new fresh colour on an older style bike, might look awesome to a few, but will not appeal to the many.

The retro green will allow the bike to be representative of itself in almost any biker company

the Candy ghost just puts it into the custom "one of" special group,

Both paint jobs are great, both make the bike look good.

But the question? I want to attract a buyer,

My money would be on the Retro Green

Question was about paint schemes? Pictures of the ghost flames are another job that Kolorinn did and something I'm considering having replicated on my red ZR750.

The green ZR is actually a beautifully restored bike in the UK, exceptional job he did with little expense spared.

A little surprised you are even considering it.

For resale value there is no question that the green would be better.

Normally I agree I don't like bold flames - but the ghost flames are so subtle they appealed to me.

I have you know, I'm a reformed Honda rider, I did swing that way for a while but didn't really like it.

And what's up with you - a HD rider that doesn't like flames - I bet you claim not to like tassels either - never did I think I'd see the day.

Seriously though people are only confirming my own reservations about the flames - so its great to get a reality check.

So what do people think of this one, it's a modern redo of the 1100 Zephyr but I like the colour of it too.

Biggest problem with retro is if the shading and balance of stripes etc isn't 100% it looks shithouse as well - I guess you really need to trust the guy with the spray gun in his hand.

So then you decided to swing back so you got a Kawasaki?

No tassels on my bike but i have got tribal pattern mirrors and flame stitching on my seat so I'm almost a stereotypical middle aged Harley rider

I fucking hate anything with flames on it. They're only subtle enough if I can't see them at all.

A good respray in original colours will make the whole bike look like it's in better condition, flames will make it look like it's been a project after being crashed/left outside to rot. That said, a '92 ZR750 isn't worth big money to start with anyway so if you're going to be keeping it a couple more years you may as well do what you like best. The loss in value won't be too significant compared to running costs for 20-30000km.
