    Cog Questions about: Exhaust control valve on K4 Gixxer1000?

    got a 05 k4 gsxr1000 recently and all strip done for repaiting and some other job...
    i bought a 2nd hand racing exhuast, and i removed OEM Exhuast contral valve...
    got my gas tank paint done last night and started engine this afternoon,,,all goes great
    but the red engine check on my dash stays on as well as F1(or FI) code flashing, these warnings happens before randomly, on and off sometimes...
    i did abit homework myself,,,as engine check(and F1) could be something like 30 differents fualty codes, include E.C.V which is very commen as the valve gone stuck or retard after years and computer sence its goes wrong.
    so my questions are:
    1,who could do things like bypass the ECV, as what they did to racing bike and how much its would be?
    2,does racing mufflers require re-map the computer? who and cost?
    3.any other suggestions about anything???

    wish someone could point me the way

    PS. I LOVE my new exhuast,,,wont accept the idea about take my new exhuast off and put old YOSHIMURA back on...

    PS. Also...stainless/carbon YOSHIMURA flip on for sale, fine condition straight bolt on to K4 Gixxer1000

    Agree. Check out google
    FI = fault indicator
    The general consensus is that a slip on exhaust doesn't really need a remap/tune but a full system exhaust should probably have one. Maybe something like a PCV or Bazazz to tweak fueling etc could be used.
    Generally, an ECV (or whatever they call it) motor can be replaced completely or bracketed to simulate a valve. This info will be plentiful

    When fitting aftermarket system or removing the exhaust valve do the following.
    For GSXR1000 K1 to K4 only cut or remove the connector.. the black with brown stripe wire on the grey connector at the ECU this is pin 33 if you read the plug correctly. When cutting any wires make sure the ignition is turned off and always leave some spare either way incase you do the wrong one and they need repairing, DO NOT cut flush to the connector!
