Man, they really throw those bikes around! So much more movement, twitching and sliding from the bikes up front. Lots of far riskier overtakes, it's all a bit strange really. WSB seems much less more... refined? Elegant? than MotoGP. It's a strange sight.

Do you all prefer this style of racing to the prototype class?
You should check out BSB then!

    Silence............was the stern reply...............

Seems a shame that the road version of the RSV4 bears little resemblence engine hp wise to the WSB racebike, even when fitting all of the "kit" bits that jo-blo public can get their hands on still doesnt make them anywhere near the same hp number, wonder why that is ... ?)

Good point mate, and something I reckon is a problem with most of the WSB bikes. They are closer to MotoGP/CRT bikes than the production bikes they are s'posed to be. Underseat fuel tanks, gear driven cams (previous RSV4's), aftermarket swingarms etc etc....they are so far removed from production bikes that any bragging rights for manufacturers selling road bikes is just taking the piss. I'm all for hot rodding the things but they need to pull things back a bit I reckon.

Interesting thing I read the other day was the ART RSV4 based CRT bikes are actually making less hp than the WSB bikes. Concerns about driveability and lasting the distance are the main factors. Will be interesting to see if they start pushing the envelope and dust off Max's old gear driven cam rocket engine when the chassis are more sorted.

The Superbikes don't have any limits on the number of engines etc so they can build hand grenade engines for each race. The CRT's do actually have a limit to the number they can use so they have to be careful. So it's not surprising that the Superbikes are spitting out more horsepower. Although by the end of the season the CRT's will be starting to show they've got the better chassis and are likely to be faster than the more powerful Superbikes.

Yeah reminds me when i managed a close up look of Carl Fogartys Ducati Superbike, which was based on my 996SPS i owned at the time. Only had a few things different ............
Frame (larger tube + extra braces), Engine cases (all magnesium alloy), wheels, brakes, forks, suspension, swingarm, instruments (all different), Fairings , fuel tank, (carbon fibre).

I must admit though that the paint looked very similar :-)

    just like Moto2 v Supersport

Supersport have more powerful engines and a year or so down the track the Moto2 boys are faster due to chassis, brakes (and tyres!).

Yep, he just plugging away at the podiums, gunning for the title...no-one else, except perhaps Melandri, (and that remains to be seen) is looking like having the consistency to stay with him points-wise.

Am keen to see how Laverty continues the season after the electronics 'glitch' he's had for the last several rounds is now gone.

Can't wait to hear what (if anything) comes out about the Soguoglu/Foret incident....that was bizarre!

I agree but I can't help but think that the championship would have been a lot more open if Melandri hadn't made that dive on the inside of Haslam at Donnington. 20 more points for him and a few less for Biaggi would have brought it a lot closer. Gotta say that I have been impressed with Melandri though, he is riding like he did in his 2005 - 2006 glory days.

I couldn't belive my eyes when I saw Sofu raging out on the straight, you really have to question his sanity but also that of the race officials with thier rediculous penalties. Whats wrong with a 20 second penalty or more appropriately in his case, a black flag?!

What's worse is that he wouldn't say why he did it! He should of had a 1 race ban at least I reckon!

Yeah, there didn't seem to be anything leading up to the incident that could have set him off. There needs to be a rule change for not obeying the penalty in a timely fashion. It was plainly clear he was never going to drop the three places. He should be black-flagged for either not obeying prior to the end of the race and/or for gaining a place when he'd just been told to drop three! And then he had the cheek to head for parc ferme! Arrogant or what!?

I'd love to hear his explanation; "Foret wouldn't get out of my way, of course he deserved it!"

The first two are great 250 men and pretty to watch huh ?
It'll be tough to pull back 48 points on Biaggi unless of course something silly happens. (like poor old Horhay last week).

Marco's girlfriend looks like a bunch of fun............Mmmmmm
