Looks like it is going to turn to crap today. I might give away the tag run and tidy up the bike. . I have a couple of people looking at it this weekend. No point in covering it with road spray, after getting it looking good for selling.

I want to get back on a lighter bike. After a couple of smaller bikes, the XVS is quite a handful sometimes. The long wheelbase and the 246kg is more than I feel comfortable with.

I'm in two minds; a 250 GPX/GSX/GT hyo, or go for a 200-400 trail bike and get into the gravel back roads. Trouble with them is the seat heights.

I advertised the 650 yesterday on Turd me and have had 7 contacts. All are looking at a bigger option for their restricted classes. A lady is coming from Wangamata this arvo , another coming on Sunday, Without the change with the LAMS rules it would've been a lot harder to sell. Another is a sth African who had a GN 250 lined up but felt his 160kg might be a tad too much.

I did advertise it to sell or exchange for a similar priced bike. 25 have it on their watchlist, so I'm hopeing it will sell.

What about something like a mid 2K BMW F650 Dakar or similar. Even KLR650. Still great for touring, not as heavy as the full R1200GS and you can comfortably do offroad adv riding.

Sold the bike this morning. Guttered.

Dont know how long I'll last. Sat up all night perusing Tme. Narrowed my wish list down to 14 at this time.

I'm now looking hard. KLR sounds ok, but has nowhere to strap the step ladder to the back.

DR650 has factory built in lowering options, 2 different height bolt holes for the lower rear shock mount and basic tools only required mods to the front forks. Lowers them about 4cm or something

Unfortunately, I think I'm going to be without a bike for a while. The money from my bike sale paid off two cards, instead of another bike, so rather than buy something thats just a fill in, I'll let the cash build up and get a reasonable midweight bike.

The wife has had a gutsful of things not getting done around the house while the bike has had tyres, servicing, rego, insurance, petrol money spent whenever they were due. I'll build up some 'Brownie' points for a couple of months. I can see a lot of 'test' rides coming up.

Wives are like that - don't understand real priorities.

To be honest, she doesn't want me without a bike. Reckons she couldn't put up with the sulking and dragging my bottom lip around the house. It's me that has decided I need change my priorities. Still got a watchlist on Tme a mile long.
