LOL I live 300 meters down the road! Time to get me a bucket!
Congrats to the movers and shakers!
edit: whatever happened about this?
"I am a licenced motorcycle instructor, I agree with dangerousbastard, no point in repeating what he said."
"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
"Wow, Great advise there DB."
WTB: Hyosung bikes or going or not.
Right, important info required: any motels nearby? I love camping, but not at this time of year, so I want somewhere warmish to sleep.
Yeah, could google, but no idea where the track is and can't be bothered looking.![]()
the edgecumbe hotel has rooms, good food too. i know the guy that used to manage it.. it may be called the edgecumbe plains hotel, on college road. its prob less that 1 k from the track, on the same road.
Stay at the awakeri hot pools or thornton beach motor camp, depending on whether you like to bring your togs or your fishing rod.

This would be perfect for you: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=488447320
Mmmm. Team Banks will do their sums.
We are all good for 14/15 July
Will be very low key practice/ testing / fundays - perfect for the ladies !!
Buckets only, no karts.
Plenty of nylon and good mufflers please.
More details next week- I am off to aussie on holiday![]()
what do you mean by 'plenty of nylon'?
thanks
Any part of the bike that MAY touch the track in the event of a crash must be prevented from doing so or covered in nylon (or similar slippery non track gouging material).
General points of contact are axles, handle bars, footpegs.
It is all about protecting the surface of the kart track to ensure continued use of these great facilities.
Henk & I are booked into the Awakeri hot pools Saturday night, so all going well, we're starters.
AC3_Snow - you need to bring Mel down for some practice, if you can both book time off work. Just hope the weather's like last weekend and not today.
Sidwyz - it's not that far from you, can you and Shona come along, even for a day? (nah, I still don't know where I'm going, but if I did, I'd be worried). What do I know about Edgecumbe? It's got a mount, which you can see from the Tarawera 100 start (talking years back), it had a big earthquake which left a huge crack in the ground, which isn't the kart track, and it's somewhere I've never been. Should be fun.
The track is longer than Mt Welly, but shorter than Roy's Hill and probably Kaitoke (can't remember the length of Kaitoke).
Thank you Farmaken for organising this. Oh, what are the fees for the weekend? hehe, only recently worked out who you were and now it seems so obvious lol
Just had a look on Google maps, what a great little track! To busy and broke to make it this time but would certainly be keen in the future. Wonder if this track could be incorporated into the nth island series, maybe instead of TePuke?
