The young guy was always in the court news but I don't recall his name now. I remember that on that particular day the prosecuting sergent had a bit of fun. As each person was called up to face the music he would have a sheet indicating the person's previous record for his honour to review if necessary. When the young hoodlum got to the dock the sergent picked up the guy's record sheet but sort of let it fall open and it was a lineflow paper record that reached down to the sergent's knees. There was muffled laughing around the court and the sergent was trying hard not to smile.

Yes. His comments were pretty harsh.

He should have just manned up and taken it graciously. It was only a $30 fine?
I do think the tolerance should be 10kph for everyone though.

Last weeks programme showed that basically, if I get pissed off by anyone on the road, I can call *555 and tell an unsubstantiated story about their driving to get them ticketed purely on my heresay! Awesome.

Or as Brooke Howard Smith would say "Shame on you! NZ Police!"

All vehicles should be able to go 100 this 90/100 split is just stupid & dangerous, that trucker program that was on showed at what lengths people would goto to get past a truck.

You can't just *555 someone to get them a ticket (that just gets them a letter), you actually have to formally report them. Involves filling a form etc usually at a cop shop.

If you are refering to the aussie that got the ticket for crossing the centre line ... it was not a *555 call as such. The cop spoke to the lady making the complaint personally. AND ... Got her details should a court appearance was necessary.

I had to laugh at the kid (on a learners) with his girlfriend ... speeding, no L plate, no rego, on learners with a non licenced passenger, and got shitty at the cop for ticketing him for breaking stupid rules.

Then made his GF start walking the 10 km's to the next town. (SHE wasn't impressed either)

The guy was a tosser. But the cop driving off and leaving the girl to walk alone for 10km on a country road?

Wearing that dress she wouldn't have to walk for very long.

    fixed it for ya

But my guess is she was told to walk so the dude could pick here up again once the cop took off, standard "pulled over with mates on a restricted" practice. I'm sure it's no different when running a learners.

Lol - cool story bro. I was thinking that the cop should have kicked the tosser out of the car to walk with her.

It wasn't you in the dress, was it? Nice legs...

It must be frustrating for the cops when on camera, they can't say what they are thinking.

That kid's attitude is typical of too many these days, (including some members here), "The rules are stupid and I shouldn't have to obey them and if I get caught it is the stupid rules and stupid cops who are to blame for my misfortune!"

And yes, he would have blamed the cop for his, (now ex..?), girlfriend having to walk.

    My heart bleeds...

Spoilt kid who doesn't get told NO enough, nothing says 'look at me' like a teenage girl throwing her toys like a 5 year old needing a time out. Had to laugh though, would have been fun to be a fly on the wall when she finally got into town only to realise that her phone and wallet were in the bag she threw into the bushes whilst having her hisifit.

I love programs like this, it shows what a lot of fucked up people the police have to deal with. There is no way on this earth I could of resisted dragging that truckie out of his truck, pepper spraying the fucker and leaving him on the side of the road. Glad they dont let people like me become cops. Was a Cromtranz truck too I think, some of those guys are fucking dangerous, been a few scarey moments thanks to those guys while using the sidearm mower through the gorge or round the staircase.
