So her lawyer reckons a fraudulent claim is now "quite bold"?

I think he needs to be sent to her planet... her kind of stupidity shouldn't have taxpayers footing the bill... just send her straight to jail.

Prison is just where she belongs, or would you rather have her type living among us, committing more crime?

And when they let her out of jail ... the $8000 odd she now owes ... will get paid out of her benefit at $2.50 a week. (and as there's only 52 weeks in a year ....)

Unless she puts another claim in to IRD ... as long as she leaves the 747 off the claim. The ciggie papers and womens magazines should be ok ... sounds fair to me.

She must have a strong sense of "entitlement" to expect a refund on her tax ... despite not having paid any ...

With the number of accountants in prison ... I'm sure next years claim will be far more plauseable ...

She's taxing on the economy, society, eyes, ears, fashion plice, etc. Of course she expects a refund on the hard work she's done looking and being the way she is.

"A psychological report concluded that Whakarau's offending had arisen primarily out of an apparent naivete about business processes, coupled with a sense of entitlement, grandiosity and some element of wishful thinking."

So in this instance the judge had ordered a psych evaluation, if she were sick then she would have been remanded for treatment. I agree that there are to many people sent away that are sick and that is not right. This time though I think it was the fact that she had multiple convictions already for obtaining by deception that meant she should do some time.

I had an accountant friend explain this part to me, if a company pays its GST on the 'invoice system' it can claim the GST on an invoice before the invoice is paid, sounds kinda like the honour system, just falls apart when someone is telling porkies
