Wardrobe organisers

I know, I know, bike forum and all that.

I have fallen in love with a house, that has a walk in wardrobe

Going by my past behaviour regarding these things, it will simply get stuffed full of shit, and not resemble a well organised, useful space as it should. No amount of encouragement

from my husband will change this

I saw the most amazing wardrobe organised space the other day, and can see how actually investing in shelves/hanging space etc may be of some assistance to me in my endeavour to enjoy my "walk in" wardrobe.

Have been googling (is that a word now?) but it is too hard (I cant believe I typed that). Is there anyone on here that actually sells these amazing things, or anyone that has used someone that does?

My hubby hangs his clothes up, I tend to drape them.

I may have a few pairs of shoes, I wear them everyday. Mind you, thinking on there may be some I will wear one day, some I will wear eventually, some I wore once and cant part with, some I cant currently wear as my dumb ankle wont allow me to yet, some I simply own and cant part with

We just use this Maddison House stuff http://www.mitre10mega.co.nz/shop/st...aniser_218070/

Buy it cheap at hardware shops and you can pick all the bits you need. You trim them to size when they are too long for your space. You and your man just have to be good at making sure you fit the wall brackets nice and straight at the right heights.

You can buy sets and usually loose bits too, to finish it the way you want.

If he hangs them up and you dont ... he needs a wardrobe. All YOU have (and need) is the floor.

Are you hoping your clothes will come back into fashion ... ??? (if they ever were)

Fwark FJ, hope you are never in my house.
17 pairs of shoes,
40 - 50 shirts,
4 suits.
20 pairs of jeans,
over 100 tee shirts.......
And Im a single guy!

I do like my clothes.
Pity you dress in rags,

Yuo get an organizer Mom.
And enjoy your clothes.
Hint, when they are hanging up neatly, far easier to work out what will match what for that evening out on the town,
Or even what will be best to take to a rally, nicely folded up in you bag.
And hang on tight to that man!
heaven forbid you loose a rare soul like that who can hang up his cloths without duress from SWMBO

Anne has clothes ''draped'' everywhere...way to many clothes if you ask me.
I can ''orgainse'' the problem in an afternoon...all it will take is a black plastic sack....

Oh trust me I am not about to swap my man for the world, but I do acknowledge I need help in the hang up department.

I have a lot more clothes than SWMBO (who works in the clothing biz - go figure). But I have a buttload of workshirts, suits, jackets for africa etc etc.

We organised ours using stuff from one of those plastic box stores: called "Urban" or something. Really good and reasonable price, plus adjustable. Weve got two hangrails and space for shoes and all sorts of stuff. Used it in the hall cupboard too to organise the motorbike gear.

We looked at a range of (wait for it) rubbermaid stuff at Placemakers but it was quite expensive and not as flexible. but, you know, "rubbermaid".

This stuff. The wife just priced some up for home but it came to like $1,200. Looks nice, but nah.

clean nails, polished shoes, and confidence will win over a the clean ladies

i use two types of storage units, one came with the house,(floor),the other at the bottom of the bed,,,cardbord box...clean and unclean.....

Having installed the lightweight "wire shelves" type of system, I cannot recommend them. The Madison House appears to be the same type.

Perfectly OK if, like the advertising photos show, you only want to store a very small amount of things and have half of the space empty.

Why?
You will see the lightweight bent metal tabs that attach to the poles and onto the walls. These open out and eventually let go when suficcient weight is put onto the shelves...

I now have added the trusty cable-tie shelf fixing system to ours.

If doing this exercise again I would go back to solid boards and galvanised water pipe for the hanging rails!
