It's already here I hope someone lends me some keys, they look like they could be fun, regardless of the on paper looks.
Saw a gold one (featured in the latest Top Gear mag) in Apiti last weekend. Very small car.
I wish they had used the 3SGE BEAMS lump out of the Altezza though, more power/torque, more revs, nice wee motor.

Yeah but not yet available for test drives. I know they used the Sub motor for balance and placement and they can be successfully tweaked. But 200hp should be plenty in that size car so I'll defer judgement until I drive it. Heck my Kizashi with 185hp is a quick car, faster than anyone might expect even with the CVT.

200hp/1250kg is all well and good, but I'd be a wee bit annoyed when Honda Integra drivers are out running me
I think I'd take an S2000 and spend the change on a Boxster
Quick is relative and in the eye of beholder, straight lines are dumb, but lots and lots of revs are fun

I'd take an S2000 too, but not as a daily driver, it's not as torquey as the MX5 which can lug around lazily in any gear. The Honda would make a great track car or for that Sunday blast. It's more about driver ability though and it would take a very good driver in a more powerful car to stay in front through the twisties. My Kizashi is that good that I pulled away from a young fella in his Commodore easly onthe Whangamata road even taking my wife's comfort into account. We had fun but not being stupid if you know what I mean. The MX5 and the Kizashi have such good chassis' it's only on the longer straights anyone could pull away.

I've found the S2K to be the torquiest 2.0L non turbo engine I've ever driven, but 'm obviously biased towards them they're properly addictive
Don't get me started on Commodores I'd love to see how the Kizashi drive. I'm currently tootling around in an early E36 BMW 325i manual, my brothers (I spent all the $$ on good stuff, like stupid bikes) and it "only" has 191hp/245nm, but it's a fantastic drive, factory Msport suspension, nicely balanced and goes fairly well, sounds top notch. I wouldn't care if I got out run in it, it's just so much fun

I have to agree. The Honda has another 100hp over the MX5 so it's all relative I think. The S2k is rated at the same HP as my old HT Premier 308 V8!

The early 325's are fabulous cars! Especially the manual's.

The Honda does have the majority of its power up rather high, so I see where you're coming from. That 9,000rpm howl is just... That's propely grunty for a 308 though, 177kw!

I'm tempted to buy this one, it's the 90's E36 model, but great service history and I've been under and over it, mechanically sound and it has just under 300 thousand on the odo. Lovely to drive, superbly flexible motor, can take off from stand still in 3rd with no extra slipping of the clutch... DAMHIK

Does not tell you much about the car but it does look like a bit of real world purist fun. And it's at the Isle of Man.

That's my kind of fun and why I loved my '89 GSX600F with "only" 80hp. Basic bullet-proof real world, real road fun!

Shelby was a great engineer who built brillant cars.

My interest is in small english sports cars, however I do enjoy the looks and the sounds of real american muscle cars.

A sub 10 in any road car is a great result.

LOL! Boy racers won't be able to afford them and I hope anyone who does buy one has the self-control to avoid that end. It would be heart-breaking to see one of these put down!

When you see the vids of the build and hear the engineers describe their work on the GT500 you get an appreciatrion for their enthusiasm and what went into it.

Too late mate, there are already many modified examples in the bloody US.
How has nobody noticed that Toyota just made a slightly out of proportion BMW Z4 model for this?
