I know Firefox in Windows has the ability to show your saved passwords.

Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords

I've never had an email (it's definitely working too) from you and any you've gotten from me are automated notifications.

Gremlin you are a scholar and gentleman Sir.. I think you need to change your name to Grand Poobah. That has to be the most useful piece of computing information I have ever been given. Many thanks.

yerp. depends which browser you're using. i know nothing about M$hit. chroms and mozilla probably have some *save passwords for transfering/ synchronising* button. opera (wins.) has files you can copy out and into your next install. also i'm sure "wand" will have a transferr feature.

alternatively there is invariably a pre-compiled linux tool that will hack/reveal your passwords.

    but tutt-tutt. forgetting a password.
Cheers Akzle. Just remember TOSSS for Firefox. Gremlin was informed and kind enough to share. Tools > Options > Security > Saved Passwords > Show Passwords. I won't be losing any of them ever again which is kinda nice for when the list in the top drawer of my computer desk lets me down because I can't read my own writing.. or failed to record one as was the case here.

Cool.. it was a very pleasant and personal note signed admin and so it must have been your colleague.

As you can see from the help I have received I am more than good to go if ever confronted by any password problems in future. Many thanks to all.
