asides from that, i don't set out to wind up poopoos, i can't imagine why the guy would have flicked his lights off again. mine is not to reason why.

Only non-public gear we wear is the stab vest.

Mainly we wear BMW gear, coz we get a deal due to us buying their bikes. Various models, Streetguard, Trailguard, Airflow, mine is Santiago.

Read the news, there's been a global financial crisis. Our gear is getting replaced less often and bikes too. Gubbermint cost cutting.

Thing is, we wear the gear for work, so the novelty of having flash gear wears off as it just gets taken for granted. I have a fairly new System6 helmet, it's nice, it needs to be as I wear it about 25 hours each week.

One note though. I wear odd bits of my personal gear, as I like it better than my work gear. I wear my own pants, they are more comfortable long term than the Beemer ones. They are Olympia Motorsports vented pants, I can put layers under and over them.

I actually post my work stories coz I am interested in what people think about the things that happen to us daily. I don't look for kudos etc.

I trust some get a smile from my posts. I get a smile from the banter.

My day was ruined at 0530 by the truck crash on State Hwy 2. No sooner logged on and sent to that drama.
A tip for those riding south between petone and Ngauranga, stick to the right lane for a few days. 5200ltrs of diesel went onto the road at the crash scene. Fulton Hogan and the fire service have done the best clean up they can but I bet its slippry on the first wet day.

Heard about that 1V. You're right, shitty start to the day, even more so for the poor buggers involved.

Funny thing is I never get pulled over. Not in my car or my bike. Must be 20 years or more.

Then again my vehicles are legal. And insured which has saved my arse a few times.

Mate of mine is a Sargent up here. Victim of to many donuts. Him and a new constable came in my shop once and I gave him shit about his new stab vest having to be 3 normal ones stitched together. Young cop didnt know what to do.

One of the guys down here gets the Mickey taken at times. I offer to let him wear leather gear instead of Cordura, but only if he knows someone with 3 cows to spare.

    Irk!

There were more bikes on the road than there normally are during a summers day. A few I noted appeared not to be registered, with the WoF status I'd suggest being questionable. The other thing that grated me was the riders standard of dress i.s runners jeans and shonkey street wear. Less than desirable - IMHO

We think they are entertaining, but I'm sure if I ride around down your way, there will be a story of yours to tell of it.

Because it effects you how? Don't bother with the usual tripe about ACC levies and biker accident cost either, because ALL motorcycle accidents and injuries get lumped in together, and I don't know a single motorcross rider that hasn't fucked themselves up LOTS.

Yes, bikers need to take responsibility for themselves, but our gear is down the list compared to our attitudes and skill levels.
