That is one sexy Moto Guzzi that I really wouldn't mind pushing around the garage...

Its got to be worth that - just finding / buying all the bits these days would take forever and cost a fortune.

I knew I could inject some positive Moto Guzzi-ness into this thread.

They're a unique brand with a unique heritage and a unique appeal. Very rare these days. Not even the Chinese have managed to rip Guzzi-ness off.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

    Ain't that the truth....

I love my machine and at the same time get bloody frustrated and annoyed with it.

I wonder why it is so easy to do the tappets but they make you use an 11mm spanner for the screw and locknut...
I wonder why they make the oil filter cover easy to get at on the sump and then make the oil filter nigh impossible to get at.
I wonder why they make the dipstick out of black plastic so it's very easy to cross thread as you're ghholding the bike upright with the other hand while trying desperately to get an accurate reading of oil level.
I wonder why they put a steering damper on a machine that you have to turn in yourself and has quite heavy steering.
I wonder why they make a beautifully shaped tank and then make it out of plastic so my magnetic tankbag is useless.
I wonder why they didn't put a groove in the gearlever shaft so when it came loose the whole thing slid off (while between 2 gears so I lost forward mementum while going up a hill......)
I wonder why they have a rear shock on the back that has an easily accessed rebound adjustment and you have to practically tear the whole bike apart to get at the threaded collards for the preload.

Just thought I'd give you a little insight into my ownership.
    I love the V11 Sport !!!

man... years back when I got my 1100i sport the local MG dealer wanted $350 for a filter tool, this fucked me off big time so I rang the Brisbane MG dealer and $35 later it was on the way...
use it to undo the large filter nut then turn it over and it slots on up over the filter... fark taking the sump off bet ya never found shit in the gause?
    cheers DD

Harden up mate - the traditional Guzzi filter is in the sump and the sump must be removed to get to it... Its a bitch but.... Thats life...

Got the speedo all fixed now.
Problem was the nylon gear was falling off the back of the speedo into the beval box and only just making contact with the bevel drive for the cable. Hence the up to 30km/h and no more issue.
Took me a bit to figure that out after stripping down both ends of the cable and numerous testing,..plus completely stuffing one gear !!
