No room for a tripod. Nice pics.

I couldn't make it this year with work commitments, sad bugger!

How long did it take to get through the 42nd?
I'm thinking of heading through there for the first time in about 3 weeks.

You can do a surprising amount with a tiny folding tripod. I got some really good photos of the fire at the Cold Kiwi last year. I did have to lie on the ground to take them though. It took a while to get a decent shot, so a nice man came over to check that I hadn't passed out

Silly boy, I was planning on trailering it to the sea

Still don't have the gearbox apart. Pattersons are being good sports at lending us several flywheel pullers, they just haven't managed to lend us the size I asked for.

The rally was good, though the firewood situation was crap. We had to go hunting deadfall as we only mananged to secure about an hours worth of wood total for both nights.

I didn't have a problem with firewood, after 3 or 4 loads on the DR

Weren't as many people this year, wasn't as cold, not as many rat bikes - still great fun though, a must do.

some of that is due to firewood being stolen from the site during the year, in saying that it took the club a good two hours to pick up al the left over wood round the site and take it back to the storage area.

who did you ask for firewood?

The video is funny, especially when sliding down the hill. You can't hear it at normal volume but if you crank the sound up while Chris is sliding backwards you can hear him swearing.

Yeah, I was swearing because that was not much fun at all, I was trying very hard to stay upright, but no so that I ended up reversing off that bank at the bottom, dropped her at the bottom to be safe.
