Bike shop staff fight off raiders

CCTV footage has been released showing brave staff fighting off raiders who tried to remove two Ducati Panigales from their shop.

The six raiders walked into In-Moto, in South Croydon, UK, then tried to wheel away the bikes. But staff member Paul Read hauled the bikes back. The CCTV footage shows Mr Read, 35, struggling with the thieves before kicking them out of the door.

Outside, another struggle took place as more raiders arrived, only to be fought off by manager Adrian Couzens and his team.

The CCTV footage can be seen at: http://www.youtube.com/watchfeature=...&v=JtdN5L0x5B4

The incident took place at around 5:30pm on Tuesday September 4th

Nothing on Croydon, but the "people" who tried to wheel out the ducs happened to be the biggest bunch of pooosays I've ever seen in my life. They turned up on scooters wearing high vis, and each of them looked like they may have weighed 60kg soaking wet. That one clownshoe on the scooter got pushed off once, took it in the chin like a pro, got back up, sat on the bike, and took it again.

If you had shown me that video with no context, I would have assumed it was a pisstake. A bunch of skinny white kids rolling up on scooters in high vis trying to wheel out bikes from a bike shop in broad daylight with no weapons of any kind? Sounds like a will ferrel movie.

The shop keepers were very lucky it was the goonies attempting to snatch up their bikes. I mean, good on them for sticking up for themselves, but you never know who is on the other end of things.

If something like that had happened back home in various bits of Chicago, they (the shop keepers) would have more likely then not been shot or stabbed

    Capiche?

Wouldn't the shop owners have 'protection'? Or wouldn't they have a double-barrelled sawed-off shotgun behind a counter, or at least a baseball bat?

Losers should have sent the whole crew in first to distract/obstruct the guy in the shop. Probably could have wheeled the bikes out without him seeing.
This amused me " Adrian and the rest fought them off outside the showroom.". Only Adrian had a go. Another fell over his own feet when confronted and was then restrained by the guy next to him 2.09. Whose side was that guy really on?
Both of them got out of the way when the kids went to leave with the clumsy one making a point of standing on the bar so Adrian couldn't pick it up and then getting in his way. Could have given the closest one a shove into the path of the other. One shove could have got three with one go there.
Hard to see where Adrian got his broken wrist.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Why else would they do something as incomprehensible as this. The pity is that all of the staff and helpers didn't actually deal to just one of these pricks so badly that they couldn't get away.
Any one of them caught would squeal on the rest! Low Lifes ALWAYS do!
Geez Willy steady on there about Pete's coffee. Poisoned ?, maybe. Blinded probably.
