Did see that after he also Pm'd me, and have replied today, Hope he will join us a bit more here as I think the ADV thread seems as dry as old bones and we need to transfere a bit of the original spirit we had there over to here.

Its a bit of a story but here goes.

Pick up DR on Thursday after 3months and over 2k worth of parts put inside those old engine cases.
Headed strait for Murawai to put in some run in miles on new rings. the old girl was running well (perhaps a little bit better due to better compression ?),
Arrive at Beach entrance and promptly stalled after the second judder bar, at which point DR refused to restart.
Eventually gave up once I notices fuel pouring out from under the tank when starter was pushed and presumed mechanic had not attached fuel hose (which I couldn't see or get to behind the fuel pump without tools)

Trailered bike home (after having a comfort Hawaiian burger, milk shake, and chips)
Removed right side tank the next day and again cranked motor over again, motor roared into life and no fuel leak.
Blowd if I know, will have to seek further advise as don't really want that to happen again in-case it become a two wheeled flame thrower in a forest somewhere

Something to sort out on Monday on I guess

that T join into the carb can be a real bugger, it was leaking off and on when i got her after the PO had a carb kit put in, real prick of a thing to get to.... assuming thats where the leak is.

oh and great to hear its back mate

Before removing the carbs to check the T junction..... remove the CDI , Reg and battery box (dont forget the bolt on the inner gaurd, 10mm head) then loosen the airbox and pull it back a bit. It makes re-installing the carbs a whole lot easier and you don't risk damaging the old frail rubber carb boots.
This method takes a bit longer, although you get pretty good at it DAMHIK and just makes it easier. If you'd needed a piston/rings I have one here that I'm not using, genuine suzuki job too

Ta, lets hope thats the problem as I was suspicious it could have been an spark problem combined with the carbs flooding and pumping the fuel out through a faulty main jet seal,

Just re-ringed but thanks for offer, piston would almost be a collectors item and you should mount on mantle piece

maybe wrap it up and tuck it away for about 5-10 years... would quadruple in price by then
