    Hello people (Slyran)

    Greetings!

I am new to the whole motorbike scene, just got my 6L and bike gear last week. Still going through the obsessive, spend-every-moment-thinking-about-it stage of things. I figured while I am at it, I may as well sign up to a motorbike forum.

Do not have a bike as of yet, still looking around but I think I have my heart set on a hornet or vtr, although I am leaning towards the hornet.

Just thought I would take some time to introduce myself.

There is a reason why half of all NZer squeeze in to the bit of the country that bounds Hamilton, Tauranga & Whangarei.
[That should be good for a broadside Slyran!]

    New Zealanders??!
    1 in 4 are asian...

when i become world president, i'l build a 60 ft wall around auckland. then, depending on weather, either fill it with water, or just leave it locked up for 10 years. any survivors are obviously fit to live...

God help us! The Asians are just about the only ones left with any technical skills in NZ! They are allowed to emigrate to NZ because of their skills, & yes most of them do come to Ak. Unfortunately, we don't actually have any highly skilled jobs in NZ anymore eg for electronic chip designers, power systems engineering, brain surgeons, top mathematicians & the like. We have even closed down nearly all of our manufacturing & really only want folk who can sell imported rubbish, show tourists around, or work the land. So Asians stay 2 years, work in supermarkets, buy a cafe or work as janitors. After 2 years they become naturalised & then emmigrate to Australia where they have a good choice of employment. (I have been friendly with a few of them.)

If you don't believe me, watch the fun & games unfurl as we try to re-build Christchurch. I will paint you a picture: desperate shortages of engineers, architects, and tradesmen in all areas. Heaps of politicians, spin doctors, concerned citizens and those with training in the arts telling us how it is (isn't) going to be. Hundreds of fly by nighters who do a minimum job for maximum income, and desperate shortages of all inspection to pick this up until it is much too late. In the meantime the population in Christchurch halves from 2009 levels.
