Apple products are a waste of time. They sell you an inferior product and trick you into thinking that you have somehow bought a superior product. They are aimed at n00bs who have no fucking idea what they're buying, so the advertising is cleverly targeted at those kind of people. The Apple business model is dishonest, and there is no reason why you should buy an overpriced fashion accessory just to try an be "cool". Funnily enough I've met very few people in the computer industry who are Apple fans, because they know a rip off when they see one.

Buy an Android device, root it, and put Cyanogenmod on it. You'll have much more freedom being able to run things as root, and you'll get much more enjoyment out of it than an iPad.

You can tell by his second sentence, the thing is, apple (hardware at least, software is more user opinions than a benchmark) do offer superior products. The other thing is, they just aren't superior enough to warrant the extra price imo.

Yes I have and in my opinion the apple is nicer to use but so over priced and you are tied into what you can use on it.
The galaxy is has way more options but seemed a little sluggish, the newer models might be better.

They all bring new models out quicker than tits at a Harley conversion so it will be obsolete by the time you get them home, so like I said before it will come down to which one SS likes the best not what anyone else thinks is best. It's just another "what bike is best thread"

Nope, they won't be obsolete by the time you get it home. As most know Apple doesn't support flash, I'm not sure whether Samsung does or not, but if they do there is a relevant difference as if his partner is doing a lot of web surfing that will annoy her. Also I don't like the new Youtube app that was introduced with the latest software update, especially if used on the Ipad (so far I have only found an app for the Iphone that will work on the Ipad but looks shit). That's the kind of stuff that will matter, but as I haven't used the Galaxy I can't really comment.

I haven't "sold my soul" I try to buy the best product for the purpose I can, it just so happens Apple has been the best product for purpose a few times.
I'm not loyal to 1 brand, hence why I'm asking for people to convince me Samsung would be the "better" buy & why, if that's not the case I'll stick with the default of Apple as the best product for purpose as so far they seem to be.

Obviously an assimilated "Cybermen" & have never used an Apple product in your life, thus know little of what you speak. As I mentioned I have no intention of rooting it, this will be a "charge up & play" device. I have no intention of ever making it a "what can I do for shits n giggles" device

it's hard to explain to someone who has never really used one, so use one & find out... it's the small things that count, attention to detail. Little things you wouldn't notice unless you suddenly find yourself without. These are among what make Apple the "best". Even simple things like OS X icons being 512 pixels or 1024px in 10.7.4-> (& the detail held within) help to make it a much more pleasurable experience.
