    Sick...

    Well and truely sick.... Feck....

My GP is a bloody wonderful woman and I'm damn lucky to have her. The whole practise has got it right this time. I rang up for a follow up appt today (saw emg doc sunday who was quite keen for me to be in hospital or some reason) because I was feeling worser and no appts... sigh.... Receptionist said 'is it urgent'. "oh no - I'll be fine i says". No it sounds urgent I'll put you through to the Nurse. Nurse takes details and looks up records and say I'll call you back but Jan will want you to come in... No No really I'm being a woose it can wait... "Yeah right' I'll ring you back...

15 mins later - I have as much time as I need at the end of her shift....

Very full exam and oh oh - that aint flash.... "Look - you either DON"T go to work and do what you are told tomorrow or you go to the hospital now".... In fact you are coming here again for a follow up and if its a smidge worse thats where you are going....

    Dammit.

I suspect - once these drugs wear off I think I will be begging to go....

Whats wrong - normally no biggie but with type 1 diabetes you can get complications and I got complications.... But thats not here or there.... Just another day in the office but thank you Coastal Medical... You could have wished for better looking after today...

We criticise a lot (well OK I do) but NO COMPLAINTS. Doc's getting flowers after this....

Always nice to hear the positives with the negatives. Sounds like an amazing GP. We do get overly caught up with our criticism sometimes huh...

I assume the "day off work" can't involve motorcycles...

Uh yeah... the I'm fine bit doesn't work when you're borderline hospital.

When I burnt my leg I figured it would sort itself out (after riding 400km to get home). Couple of days later it's more stiff and more sore, fine, I'll go to the local A&E. Well it turns out the leg is infected and is 2nd degree burn and I'm likely a day away from hospital. 2 IV's over 2 days, initial daily visits and I avoid hospital. 2 weeks off my feet helping leg heal with nurses visiting every couple of days to change bandage.

Uh yeah... just get it checked out, hospital would be a tad more inconvenient

Sorry to hear 'bout your health mate. Hope you're on the up asap.

Regarding Dr's...don't worry. Jim will be along real soon to tell us all they're nothing but money hungry thieves that don't care 'bout anyone but themselves.

It's either too many drugs or not enough drugs.
