You should be old enough to have heard of Fordson's ...

And the bricks were made locally. There wasn't that much timber available at the time. Bricks were usually the cheaper option ... (in Canterbury)

E83w Ford 10 truck, Based upon the E93A ford 10 saloon chassis (prefect = 4 door anglia = 2 door). Built as a small delivery vehicle for town deliveries. offset ford 10 motor, 6volt electrics, crank handle start built from after the war till 1957. I owned one of these as a teenager, max speed 40mph, or 55mph running with a nor-wester.

Old tag snapped. Glentunnel Garage. And for those who have been searching Google maps to locate, the street view was taken before the trucks turned up there! There is no substitute for getting out and riding until you find them!!!!

You beat me to it again, tomorrow's plan was a ride out to Glentunnel, and was actually thinking about the moas as the next tag.

Just hadn't checked if they were within the 100km of christchurch as per the first post, answer being from the square no (by 3km) but from the city boundary yes, so does that make the next one I had in mind at 98km from yaldhurst ok?

I did think about the distance thing and took another pic in another location as back up. After going into google maps and finding it was only 2ks outside the 100k rule if taken from the Christchurch Hospital I thought what the hell, I have always been one to bend the rules a bit.

But if you look outside the square some would say the centre of Christchurch is no longer the CBD and is more out Riccarton way which would then bring the tag inside 100k. As the crow flies it is certinly inside 100k. What ever way you look at it, it is still a great wee ride with various options for a round trip.

I thought the same thing, given that the centre of christchurch pretty much doesn't exist any more, if it's a nice ride just do it. Looks like I've got some company for a ride tomorrow anyway, if it's a nice day the next tag might end up in Hokitika.

Hit the Get Directions button, stick in your start point and end point, tells you how far.

In my travels passed a neat little building, nobody lives there anymore but I guess it makes sense that if the gates are gone there's not much point in them staying...

Alford Forest is 43.8 ks south of your last tag on the same road. As for 'what came first, the tree or the house', looking at the size of the trunk I would suggest the tree wins the race.
