    BMW sidecar at Manfeild

It was my turn not to do any spannering so had plenty of time to watch the BMW sidecar in action......

In the practice session the BMW stopped and parked on the grass....." something was trying to get out of the bell housing.."

The 'something' turned out to be a split ring gear on the flywheel.

These things tend to attract lots of willing helpers.......

The gearbox was pulled out, the flywheel removed and Sidecar Bob produced an angle grinder from thin air......it reminded me of of South East Asia.......

Don't you think he has that sort of angelic look about him....

" You can't pushstart this" said Bob...... and only two minutes till race time....

After about 5 minutes of pushing it we began to believe him....

    more power was needed....

    Smile for the camera...

    bit of live vid....

Dropped the head from the HD weekend back to " the man in Pokeno with the lathe"

Good weekend and the weather held.

Fuck that Gordy guy seems hard on gear, he's broken it twice in the last two outings

I think I got a spare one of those flywheels if it's needed

I didn't think your ring would be able to handle any more abuse.....

Gordy is hard on gear..... I did 46 races on it, and only fucked it once.......

If you could have a look & see if its the same as pic #2 that would be great.
Checked my shed & can only find another one without a ring gear too.
I can replace it back to you when I dismantle the one in the car port, or just buy it outright.
My favourite part of the photos is the bits of R1200 gangnam style that managed to get in shot, Or R1200 "Get Stuff", as it was refered to at one point. Thats one bloody fantastic motorcycle!!!!

I was just going to poo it back together with some JB Weld, but some fuckwit decided it would be a better souvenier for themselves and decided to pinch it off our pit garage wall whilst we were out dining.

I've got low self esteem, so I only ask when I know I'm getting a 'yes'.
