Found the source for one of the clips in the original video, title was "moto crash (oil on road)" - first thought was yeah yeah, excuses excuses... but I'm not sure I would have been able to avoid it myself. It'd be nice to think I could avoid it 4 times out of 5, but....

You fucking kidding me? That oil slick was that visible it's not funny. That reminds me of a group ride I went on years and years ago. We came back to Welly over the Tuka's. I was following this homo that thought he was the man. Had his brush on the back. 1/4 way up on the Wairarapa side I could see and smell diesel on the right hand corners. A truck or whatever had been pissing it out of it's tank. Admittedly...we had a bit of sunstrike. He rode through quite a bit of it...and I figured he obviously hadn't seen or smelt it. So on one corner, I rode up the inside of him and pointed to it...it was between us. I pointed to my fuel tank...then the slick. He nodded at me. I backed off and let him go.

Two corners later he rode right through a huge slick of it and binned it big time. Once I had determined he and his hapless GF were ok, I told him what a fucking retard he was.

I'd tell you the same if you rode through that when I was watching.

Yeah, I know. It's pretty terrible to be caught out by it. But if it were an offramp you took every day, week after week, I think you could miss it...

Either looking ahead or riding slowly would make it easy to avoid. If you're just thinking about getting home and doing the speed limit, well... you'd end up like him.

Yeh that one is bloody visible even on the youtube, unless he has polarising visor/glasses it is likely more visible irl. And even if it did take you until the last second to see it, stand her up a bit, ride over it, then resume turning. Following the exact same line like that is the worst thing he could have done.

Agreed. You can clearly see the 1st slick at 13 seconds and the big one that he rides over is obvious at 16 seonds. Its only narrow and theres plenty of room to avoid it...dropping that bike was a fail...my guess the rider was tired fom a long day/ride to fuck that up so bad.

Or the camera could see it a shit load better that the naked eye. But then its always safe to criticize from the safety of your keyboard.

Diesel on the road tonight on my way home...no keyboard in front of me, tinted visor...slick easily potted and avoided...scan the road surface like your life depends on it...

Nah, the road surface can change by the hour and by the day. You can't let that happen.

Fuck off Jim! That was so clearly visable, camera enhanced or no...you'd have to be asleep to miss it. And just as well you've never criticized anyone else here then eh!

    Woteva.
