Beauty Warren your a legend, hey bummer you didn't make it to Wangas it was so good! our bikes wiring needs some serious attention haha, spongebob and the rest of the sidecar family had to frantically wire up some of the bike so the kill switch worked again.. was tense!

but the way it happened was classic, Dad said "the car is slow, gotta keep the momentum up (raining, wet road, kaimai hills) next thing round a tight left hander the back steps out, over corrects, snaps other way slides sideways across the lanes and does a 180 ending up on the oncoming lane with the trailer jack knifed.. oops - entirely his fault I might add..

But in essence, if the pedal or its components (lever/rodends/bias bars/reservours) were to bend/snap/break or leak empty, then we'd still have no brakes.
I still think an independent lever/pedal system is the best course to take, as well as an updated brake pedal box design.
    Have a look at these.

Won't make for a completely seperate system but one, (or a combination) of these can isolate a line if it develops a sudden leak.

    SNAP!!
I was telling my brother in Aussie yesterday about my crash, and he said 'Why don't you use a hydraulic fuse?' I said WTF??? He told me bascially about the info you gave us.
He's a pilot, was Captain on (747-777), Airbus A..... (feckin allsorts) and flys allsorts of helicopters, also a safety officer for Boeing. He's also developed a vortex generator for fixed wings and rotors that will revolutionise the industry once caa/faa and Aussie/US military get everything approved. PHD in Aeronautical aerodynamics etc etc.... so knows his stuff.
Called me a munter for not having a seperate redundancy line....
Guess I'm the black sheep in the family......
Is it still beastiality if ya fuck a frozen chicken??

I guess the trouble with anything falling under what might be called a "safety" umbrella is that it's going to attract the attention of various authorities who like such things to be categorised under one or more standards, regardless of how well they might work. If that's not the case here then I'd be talking to someone like Parker Hannifin. In fact I'd be talking to them anyway, I know their valves meet existing industrial safety standards and someone's bound to have done some sort of automotive brake compliance legwork already.

Well....learn something every day....this and selective laser melting too, nearly too much....

Seriously, this does look like a readily available and easy to fit solution.....I just hope that as we're talking sidecars, they're prominently marked "this way round".....

Fucking hell, all you said was that you jack knifed it, when I was looking at it the other day thought it was a hell of a hit. You are very lucky to get away with that shit on the Kaimai Rd.

Um yea I think I will pass on the offer to jack knife yours in return.

Dad will be getting it looked at later in the New Year when his mate is back from holiday, so will let you know.

For the record Qkkid was in my bed, not the other way round

Awesome to see, those FCRs are nosiy bloody thing

    Sidecar Race 1. Taylor / Hartnell , Goodwin /Prentice , Waters/Gibbs , Harris /Grace , Wolland /Skilton , Bryan/Mickleson , Roberts/Bilby , McDonald/McDonald. (2 DNF #84 Winter/Shepherd #35 Matthesiua/Monro

Winter/Shepard blew a fuse and stopped out on the circuit, Matthesius/Munro DNS with a brake master cylinder problem which is now fixed

Waters/Gibbs stalled on the line and had to come back through the field and ened up in a race long battle with Pirate/Prentis swapping position several times
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Watched it online, Pete did real well, didnt crash into anybody, or park up on the track.

That spike fulla can peddle, i wish some knob hadnt crashed their shortbike, would have been good to have some sort of reference so it all made sense to me.
