    From Grant:

This is the idea I had, long day on bike - sunday be a rest day and Monday would be less k's coming back.

542kms in one day is to much for me...add on the 200 kms to get to the start and Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *breathe* hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The Monday ride would be 550kms, my arse aint built for that kind of pounding

Think I will be drinking bubbly in the sun by the sea that day...
    Have fun

The pic is looking down on Te Araroa. Was there in 2008.

well we actually had the idea of housing a few people at our place on the Friday night. So offer is still there, definitely alot of riding but very achievable especially with a day between rides.

Not something I would recommend for an inexperienced rider at all.

Its a really nice area around there, used to go surfing at hicks bay all the time when they still had a camping ground, last time I went down there camp ground had a house built on it along with the rest of the surrounding area.

Sadly I will also be a non attendee. Will be well ensconced, drinking bubbly at the beach with my darling that weekend. Renewing our honeymoon every Anniversary weekend since ages ago. Have a wonderful time, the roads are really good in places around the cape, and really terrible in places too, so take care all of you.
