Steps can be taken to reduce issues with 1. But the others were a hassle to rectify.
Most topboxes are UV resistant ... and take a bit of punishment.
They are/seem bulky ... but I wouldn't be without mine.
They are quick and easy to remove from the plate if you don't need it. I fit mine on just in case I may need it.
Yeah .. I've used Ventura gear since the mid 1980s .. and still do .. yeah .. all of the above ..( and there are D rrings which can be used to paddlock the bag to the frame and padlock the zips ... )
However I've gone past 240 klicks with a Ventura bag on the back (with stuff in it) ... but the bikes I've had with top boxes have had messed up handling past 130 klicks .. even with the top box empty ...
I'l take the Ventura gear any day ..
