No...if they are willing to do that to themselves/accept this as normal in their cultures, and a key tenet in their religion is the destruction of the west, imagine how they would be willing to treat us. Would you say there are many impressionable young minds on here?

Youtube is a form of media which has brought an enormous amount of seriously disturbing viewing within grasp of the young and gullible alike.

As a parent, I am of course conscious it is my responsibility to monitor what my children see on there, and I monitor very closely indeed.

But not everyone takes it seriously. I see for example my 14 and 16 year old nephews watching and giggling at people smacking the crap out of each other with baseball bats and I know they've had access to stuff like that for years.

When hurting another human being becomes a matter of hilarity, to me that is crossing a line and dissociating yourself from the safe "right and wrong" moral pattern.

1) Self Flagellation is used by Catholics, arguably rather different to mainstream Christianity. It is in no way "part of normal culture".

2) I would love you to point to documented cases of Knights eating Moslems as part of their "normal culture". There may have been isolated incidents, but I think that you'll be hard pressed to show it as part of a social norm. Also, you may find that the reports of cannibalism came during times of famine, when the people were starving and there was little food around. hence the eating of the bodies of the defeated. History is full of cases like this, not just of Christians either. FFS...you don't have to look hard for evidence of the Maori eating their enemies...

3)I am NOT saying that what happened in the Crusades wasn't horrendous, it was. However, Moslems in the name of Islam where carrying out this type of violence long before the Crusades, but then arguably so was the Church (again, predominantly Roman Catholic at this point in time). However, the Moslems were complicit in starting the wars of the Crusades and had oppressed many other "pagan" nations prior.

Using cannibalism as the basis for your argument only works to weaken your case.
