Yeah, bloody near impossible finding the TEC in the mrrors. (yes, I do know what my mrs looks like). Just a bunch of indistinguishable lights when the group gets spread out.
On Sunday I mostly wanted to stick with Irene. Was a bloody good burn though... Had a blast.
Maybe next time assign a set of leaders and TECs for each day if we have enough sufficiently expericnced riders.
Not sure if we'll make the April one. Irene will be submitting around then. Maybe a good blow out if it's after...

Coming in a bit late on this but I didn't miss having much in the way of formal instructions because Maha and Mom did such a great job of leading (and following?) by example in our group - definitely earned some time off imho. Everyone was really friendly and had a great attitude I thought and that carried over to the riding as well.
Only thing I wasn't sure about was when I lost sight of riders behind me, I felt like I should drop back enough to keep the riders in front still in sight and wait for the others to catch up, not sure if that was the done thing or not.
Oh and thanks Mom for suggesting I get my jacket at dinner (should have thought of that myself, really) and helping me when the cups fell on the floor at the water cooler at breakfast (and the farewell hug) and bosslady for organising the pizza and sharing the beer and Mongolian for actually opening the beer etc etc ...
I'd say once you get a bike with a bit more oompfh you won't be in the slow group for long - not dissing the GN btw (my bike is basically a larger capacity, over-engineered GN after all).
Also the Captain Slow in me just wants to point out that confidence is good, it's also good to temper it with caution...not that I'm an authority on that.
