The normal looking seal I can get one close to it, chch place had one that is 1mm thicker, ID OD I think are same but its 1mm thicker, I thought it may just rub and wreck itself on the shaft/sprocket carrier. Will check that out when we can reassemble it and see if the extra thickness would cause a prob.

The real problem seal is the one with the metal collar thing around it.. 'Cause no one seemed to have anything like it down here. Yet to try Massey Ferg/New Holland options.

Is that the seal with the metal ring around it? Thats the one I'm having a hard time getting.. And if they have it on the shelf then problem solved!

Yea - if we can't get a direct replacment then I'm sure we can buy a similar one and make it fit..

I was trying to get just a direct replacement first.

Cheers for all the help! back to work everyone

The one on the left I can get a similar one, 1mm thicker but that may not be an issue. Was just trying to get an exact replacement if I could.

The one on the right has the metal ring/sleeve with the rubber seal on the inside. That one is the troublesome one to find a replacement for. It'll have to be exactly the same. Or yea - will have to find something similar and muck about with it.

No steel shield, just the normal type. Not sure why it needs that...probably doesn't.

I'm after peoples thoughts (this could be dangerous), so i picked up the windle over the weekend and it is an 03 r1 engine which is fuel injected from standard, the guy i got it from has fitted it with 41mm FCR Flatslides, i have available everything to convert back to injection so my question is should i keep it carbed or go back to injection?

Sorry I was replying to the other thread and didn't see this one. Yep that is a bit of an orphan by the looks of it but I'm sure something else could be adapted to fit. Shame its not up here still.
As far as the extra 1mm is concerned they can be thinned down a bit on the inside...I've done that before now

It's all good it might not even need to be shaved down if it doesn't contact anything, So that one might be OK, the steel shield one is a bastard but might still find one yet - got a few leads.

hahahaha this was a sore point when we teased/joked about him converting it to a carb motor.

I would say fuel inject it again.. there is a reason people go for fuel injection. people like squirters more than vacuumers (except SidecarBob)

prob doesn't need any seals - it runs a sealed rear wheel bearing..

But might as well replace the seals since they were put there for some reason..

Those cards are worth more than the bloody motor. And not as good as the injection.

No brainer mate, inject it and sell the cards.

Tracey dropped her hair straightener and chucked Jo out to look for it? I think thats what happens when you have a week to re-engineer somthing that isnt broken (well its broken now, good and proper). If she had the dustbuster on instead of a fire extinguisher the hay would have got dealt to quick smart.

Semi old fashioned outlook on how a parts person should be, but not an old fashioned one at all.
And I read the wrong column on my conversion chart, went left instead of right , hence incorrect imperial to metric conversion (amateur error, doh)
