Is it though? It adds what to the experience? Might as well use a HD projector if you want a big picture that immerses you.

the full setup is more than just visual... it's 'interactive'
But behind the scenes there's some hefty processing going on, I don't see it really being viable for the end gamer for about 10yrs at-least hence in part why it's only a PoC not a demo

+1, looks a bit weird, I'd take a QHD monitor over that any day.

Crysis 3 lived up to expectations! Epic GFX, managed around 30fps on max settings. Actually found it quite hard to identify enemies cos the texture detail is so high that they often blend in. Pretty good storyline and cutscenes etc on the campaign too.

Well that's disappointing, I expected no less than to bring the triple Titan machine to a crawl on max, oh how crysis lost its way

If you ever play it on a proper gaming rig I think you'll change your tune, they've kicked the graphics up a notch again. That they have done it efficiently enough to not melt high end PCs is a good thing.

what happened to the "they should be pushing gfx to the limits" argument?
I don't plan on playing it TBH. Crysis was mediocre at best & then the alien part... Crysis 2 got boring real fast, so I really have little interest in Crysis 3. Sure I'll play it if it's round but I'm gonna make no effort to play it otherwise.

I think with the hardware advances, pushing gfx to the limits is more about smart programming than the hardware. Mind you, I'd consider it to push current top teir hardware to its limits, while the original was pushing next gen hardware to its limits. One of the devs also said next gen console wouldn't be able to handle it to the same spec as current gen PCs.

I find that hard to believe & if true that'd be down to some seriously not "smart programming".
You said you're running max on your API driven machine so what are you're specs?
