    R1 on a quiet Friday

Here I was at work on Friday arvo winding down for the week and what happens in my town?

2000 R1 + disqauly rider + excessive speed (no, not 53kph, more like double) in a built up area + car pulling out of drive-way = recipe for disaster.

Car driver sees R1 honkin' along thinks 'shee-it' and decides to stop just out of drive-way waiting for R1 to veer towards centre-line and go around him

R1 rider spears straight ahead into right front wheel of car - leaving skittery dotted black lines on road and a patch of oil at impact point. (And brown ones in his grunds no doubt)

R1 rooted, car not too flash and rider? - a variety of injuries and awaiitng a blood-alcohol test result.

And awaiting ACC pay-out too no doubt.
Winding up drongos, foil hat wearers and over sensitive KBers for over 14,000 posts...........

If the car was reversing, is he automaticaly in the wrong? regardless of the riders' state.

Cager? I take it you mean 'car driver'. Why was it his fault? It's people like you who always look to blame others and not look at your own actions. Take some personal responsibility for once.

    1st wrong - 2nd bit correct.

He saw him alright - but when he realised the approach speed of the bike ('seemed to be doing about 100k') which was not visible until close as it was over a rise he stopped dead, right-angles to kerb with his rear wheels in the guttter and waiting for the bike to swoop around him and carry on...

To be fair, the weather conditions were atrocious at the time as you can see in the photo here.
