16.1.4.2 Gloves need not be worn by passengers on sidecars.

jesus.. probably the person most likely to come off and slide down the asphalt on their hands.

So how many classes will we have then?

Just Post Classic, Pre 82 and Moderns?

Will pre 82 get lumped in with post classic?

As long as nothing effects the modern class I guess it doesn't really matter if someone wants to start another class to race some bikes.. Why not eh.

So long as people don't ditch the moderns in my view! its been a good last season with lots of entries.. hate to see it drop off if people put their efforts into classic stuff instead.

Pre '82 if run with other sidecars, must run with moderns, (this is an MNZ directive) which im sure they will, until, or if ever they get sufficent numbers to run alone.
That said, it seems that NZPCRA, will also be happy to run a minumum grid while the class is in its formative stage.
This is not intended to fragment sidecar racing, but to bring a group of people into, or back into racing that either havent been involved for many years, or never been involved before, because sidecars did not have a class that interested them up until now.
Dont fret, while pre '82 as demonstrated by the Aussies, is a very cool class, I cant see every modern & classic racer jumping into it to the detriment of their current class.
Kai, it is also possible that your outfit may be give an honorary status to run pre '82 based on lap times etc.
These issues need to be worked through in due course.
I can see you have concerns about the modern class & I agree, we have come out of the woods big time in the last 12 months, & not by accident either.
This class is not all about me & I may never own a pre '82 ever, it is about the greater good of sidecar racing in NZ & moving in sync with Aussie up to a point. dont worry about yourself too much, im sure there will always be a class for you to run in.
Any people that do make the change will I guess, sell their outfits to new enthusiastic people. I doubt that more than a couple of existing "moderns" will be re modified back to pre '82 spec.

I know with an old GSX1100 motor we could do 1.49 at Ruapuna so he may not be fast enough to qualify for it
