    Lap times

Just wondering what sort of lap times people are running around Hampton Downs and Taupo, tracks one and two.
And on what types of machines. Also have those of you that have run tyres with grooves/tread and then changed to slicks noticed
a decent drop in lap times.
Would like to have a gauge on a different variety of machines no matter what the times are.

A fast time is in the 1.04 at HDs and 1.28 at Taupo on a Superbike. Id say about 2 seconds off that for a 600.

If you are in the 1.10 - 1.15 bracket at HDs thats pretty decent on a road bike and Say 1.38 - 1.42 is pretty fast at Taupo.

A good set of race treaded tyres are not really any slower than slicks.

A decent set of slicks are a shit load better than road tyres but allow a lap or 2 for them to warm up... If you want some very good S/H pirelli slicks flick me a message. Usually $150 per set

Thanks for the info. Good to have some of the top guys offering help on here.
Am looking at getting into some club racing and just wanted a gauge on what times "normal people" were doing on the tracks.
My times would be at the lower end of those listed, but want to give it a go for some fun.
Will bear the tyres in mind, only the rears off yours would be a bit too big my motard.
Good luck with last rounds of the Nationals.

Anything you like to run !

Did clubbies on my 955 and 1050 speed triples for a summer series !

Then they booted me up to F1 lol Yeah right !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

I'm doing around the 1.15 mark on a Triumph 675 thats not fully race prepped if thats any help.
Could do better with some straight line speed, struggle to keep up with the 600's a bit but still do ok.

I might just add, that is on a good day at the office!
I can also have some pretty sad times here and there, maybe a consistency problem somewhere!
