Noise cancelling headphones?

I have recently brought a 06 zx6r with an aftermarket exhaust, while it sounds great, its bloody loud and i can already tell its having a negative effect on my hearing.

I normally ride with ear phones (bud type) and neither them or those orange 3m earplugs cancel out the noise well enough.

I have a set of these:

They are great and actively cancel out sound but they dont fit under my helmet

They have a new smaller version but are $180 :

Does anyone have any other products that will do a good job?

If your exhaust is that loud then I'd suggest getting it changed. My pipe is loud but with earplugs in (cheapies from mitre 10) I hardly hear it.

The other side to that is you want to be able to hear other traffic etc.

Could only see sound isolating phones on that site? Big difference between sound isolating and noise cancelling (passive vs active vs dominatrix in leather ooooerrrr). I doubt the noise isolating is any better than 3m earplugs, and if so they won't do much except add music to drown out the other noise (ie more db).

Im not too sure if all the noise is from the exhaust though, i think the induction is also to blame. Even at low revs it can be a bit overwhelming on the ears.

Blimmin heck, if the exhaust is that loud...I'd be putting the baffles back in first, before cramming more stuff into my ears

Active noise cancelling is awesome for airplanes but pretty crappy everywhere else. Just get good fitting ones that stay in or something like plugs4lugs

FWIW skullcandies are cheap now. and do a pretty good job. not absolute fidelity, but they're fucking ear buds.

about the most expensive earphones Ive had were about $50 on special for some noise cancelling ones. they were pretty good, but you get to a point where wind noise becomes a problem as well, Ive found they are of limited use

I wear similar headphones, the R6 has an exhaust but it's not that loud but the DR is loud as fuck and still it's the wind noise at speed that really annoys me.
I just grab some random in ear type headphones (don't wanna spend too much I lose them all the time) I just look for some that don't stick out too much, I think the current ones are Sony, I wouldn't want too effective blocking out of exterior noise so if I need to hear something I can just turn the music down.

Received my Monster iSport Immersion earphones yesterday. They have little prongs to help hold them in your ear better. The prong bits and ear bits come in different sizes. I ran home with them yesterday and they do seem to stay in place quite a bit better than my Logitech Ultimate Ears.
Normally I shy away from "Monster" products because of their cable price gouging as well as accessories that are i-something, but these do seem really good

I have always used plug type ear plugs but last week i grabbed a new pair of logitech ones. I ended up using the smallest plug they came with and that seems to block out most noise, although still a pain not to pull out when putting on my helmet.

I think a lot of my problem is the induction noise rather than exhaust, i think it just creates some gnarly harmonics around the bike that fuck with my ears really bad. Could be caused by the ram air system creating a slight air depression as it seems to be worse during hot days and not so bad on cold mornings.
