    Busting myths

I was watching an interesting interview the other day with a researcher on whether married or single men were happier.

Of course there are exceptions to every rule and some have experienced the exact opposite, so let's get that out of the way first.

Generally, though, married men were happier than single men. Both men and women enjoyed a more fulfilling life, with less stress in a marriage.

Contrary to the urban myth, married men, ( and thereby women..), had much more frequent sex and more satisfying sex than single men and those married longer, into middle and old age, had more satisfying sex than younger couples. He said that while young, single men often boasted about their free and easy sex lives the truth was somewhat different, with sex being rare and often lacking in satisfication due to being snatched, brief and in inconvenient places and times.

So while marriage has its challenges, it is generally good for you and you can usually expect to be happier and better off.

Now, let's wait for the barrage of naysayers...

So - using your reasoning, 2 men married to each other, will get the most rumpy and be the happiest.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Also, how far away were the wives when the interviews were being conducted?

Hey this is a PC world now, you are supposed to agree with all that stuff and not say how you really feel.

Actually the interviewer was referring to heterosexual relationships.

Standing behind the camera operator, or else were the interviewers. Doco was endorsed by the Husband Abusers' Club.

Happiness is transient, misery is forever

The thing is Ed, that you have very little practical experience of being a single man. Perhaps the paradigm is not that men are happier within a marriage, but that happier people tend to get married.

I have to admit to a lack of experience to relationships outside of marriage....or before marriage

That's not news. Married men always get the most sex.

Some of the times it is with their own wife.

    I was single and happy.

Then I got married and was happier.

Then I got divorced and was happier still.

    Then I remarried..........
