    EQC leaked information

What say you people of Chch?

I reckon the guy should publish what he knows as it sounds a little dodgy.

I don't know where the info in that article comes from, but I've seen it, and the address information is more definitely in it.

I have downloaded it, and only a few addresses are given, but no names. The data set is not complete.

There are instructions in the comments on the blog page with the link to the file on how to open up all of the data.

Probably only really of interest to people who have cash settled with EQC, to check how that compares with their estimated repair cost.

Yes, in theory only of interest to people who want to be nosy, like me. I was curious to see if there was anyone in the list I knew, turns out a couple were there, and AFAIK what was there was accurate, so presumably the dataset is legitimate.

If you don't mind a 15.8Mb email, otherwise PM me and I could stick it on a disc.

Can't guarantee there's any useful information in there, there was nothing on our rental with an outstanding claim, or the claims for 2 guys at work that had a look for their addresses either.

Neither of my sister's claims were there either. And I searched by claim number.

Why didn't the guy just delete it and move on? It wasn't meant for him. Tosser.

From what I understand, there's more to come and the person who received the info wanted to expose EQC for the ratbags they are.

This whole debacle, coupled with the upcoming move to fixed sum house insurance instead of replacement value, means the drama is far from finished yet for home/building owners.

GV? From what I read, the last thing you do is rely on it or market valuation for that matter.
