So why the discrimination against bigamists and the polyamourous aye?
Single marriage
Seperated
Divorced
Never married
I was divorced but the lady is now dead. Does that mean I am divorced (from a dead person) or am I widowed?
Which box should I tick?

You are "divorced". You would be a widower if the lady in question was still married to you at the time of her death. You're welcome.
By the way, we don't have divorces in New Zealand. The only way that a marriage is ended is by a dissolution, and the only way to get a dissolution is to declare to the Court that you have lived apart from your spouse for two years. And your declaration will also include a declaration that you have sorted out your relationship property and custody/access/maintenance issues.
Just so everyone knows.
I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before but one of the more difficult relationship bustups I have been involved with professionally was a a lesbian couple. No real issue dealing with their property, or financial issues but much ink was spilt and fits were thrown about who got the three dogs. Can't split them down the middle, can't take one and a half each, can't do week about really.
It was awful. I don't do the ones where the same arguments are had by people who fucking should know better about their children. Its brutal

Were the dogs well hung?
so if you don't have divorce, how can you be a divorcee? Wouldn't you just dissoluted (as opposed to disillusioned)?
