There is single track options all the way from Haul Road, Mcleans Island up once you clear the ATV area. Between Belfast and Haul Rd is pretty much just gravel road along the Stop Bank now days, still good for an open blast on an XR.

I'm up in Hanmer this weekend with the whanau so I'm out.
Last weekends trailride at Flock Hill was awesome with some very challenging enduro options (scary hillclimbs).
Carl I will hopefully see you at Port Levy ride, should be a good one.
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up to much room!
Life begins where your comfort zone ends!
Ok, how about this, just to try to consolidate all plans into one.
For those that are keen to ride out by the river, meet at the end of Weedons Ross Rd, in the car park at 11am. Here http://goo.gl/maps/e9sXB
Then we'll go for a hoon up to about Intake Rd, here http://goo.gl/maps/QnV4S
There's lots of choice track wise, twisty or open, and it saves 2 different groups hoping to bump into each other somewhere out in the trees.
I'm heading out with Ewen so there'll be at least two 2 smokers out there
Sound good? Any other ideas, let us know.
Hope to see you out there!

Fantastic ride today folks, thanks very much for the company.
My hat's off to all of you guys on the bigger bikes, even on my little fizzer I had trouble keeping up with you guys in the tight twisties in the trees! I think that says a lot, not only about your great riding but also about mine

LOL... got in the door , lay on the bed... next I know it's 3 hours later..
was a great day...lot of fun.. that real tight section though the trees gave me a bit of grief.. don't
think mr yamaha designed the XT for that..But that type of rideing is where the
rekluse clutch realy shines..
thanks guys...
Pete
90% of all Harleys built are still on the road... The other 10% made it back home...
Ducati... Makeing riders into mechaincs since 1964...
I'm with pete-blen going through the tight twisty trees I didn't know if the handle bars would fit between some of them.
I had a great time though, the last part of the ride out over all that loose rock is always an eye opener forgot to keep the weight on the rear wheel![]()
