I'm looking at putting some form of generic presentation(s) together for no other reason than it'll help me get things straight. I may even use it someday, so you may well get some entertainment out of it if nothing else.

To that end here's the brief:

To outline a new economic model with a positive societal and environmental impacts. There will be elements of cross over, but I'll figure that out depending on how specific you are. Do I realise where I'm posting this. You fuckin betcha, so have at it in all of your guises.

What goals are important to you and which "category" would they fit in to?

    Economic Goals:
    Societal Goals:
    Environmental Goals:

    Let the games begin.

    'the return of hard work'

all employees, CEO's children and pregnant women must perform physically hard work for a minimum of 2 hours a day

in 1 year weeds from farms, urban areas will be gone, pests will be eradicated/controlled, broken houses and cars will be repaired

down time wanking on the interwebs and unnecessary discussions/gaming/sports/tv watching will be frowned upon

Hollywood movies and TV will change to support the new/old paradigm

Only problem is peeps will lose weight/get healthy/ improve their minds/ and breed more, less peeps staying dumb for the shit jobs and less opportunities to manipulate them

Once [nearly] everyone is fit and healthy, the ones with genetic problems can be offered financial incentives not to breed

A collective global empire to reduce infighting, lies and squabbling amongst nations

... A list of demands? and you want "A collective global empire to reduce infighting, lies and squabbling amongst nations". I'm not going to be performing hypnotism ya know ... but there are a couple of things in there I can use, cheers.

Someone pointed me to the venus project a few years ago. Interesting, but a bit OTT imho, primarily as they are looking at the future and not so much how to get there. The end point will be something akin to the venus project, but there's a wee way to go to get to that point. Ideally what I'm looking for here is what matters to people now. What people consider are the main goals for an economy (i.e. so that people can be rich) or as a society (i.e. much less crime and sensible laws) or environmentally (i.e. less chemical usage, less pollution)... that sort of thing.

As yet the only alternatives I've seen to deal with from now til then are financially based. They aren't going to get us to that point any time soon and I don't believe that we'll get to that point if money is the driver of the economy.

Do whatever it takes to get self sufficient communities off this planet.

After that, do whatever the fuck you want.

But, (and I understand you might not quite have a good handle on this) we're not off this planet.

Or, I should say the rest of us aren't.

I was referring to the entire global village, coz if we weren't self-sufficient, we'd all be dead. But please feel free to vacate the premises any time you like.

Where have I said that I, or "my" system, would prevent you from doing what what you wanted to do? You're not going to fuck me, I simply won't allow it.

Unfortunately true... luckily I'm not the only one that's on to it. There's a few on here, quite a few just dawdling around across generations and I'm very curious just how many if "us" there are, or could be. I have a fair idea on how to get us from here to in with having a shout. Part of that is the reason for this thread.
C'mon you bright folks, where's the faith in your fellow man? or can you only see those who are at the bottom feeding off of your productivity?

I think those 3 goals made into a poll would be interesting.....

To me, its the Planet & its enviroment that everything relies on to live is the only goal that we really should concentrate on.
Societal & economic goals are totally reliant on it & are responsible for its continued degradation.
Being able to sustainably live here is the greatest challenge yet for our species .To begin with that will bring the inevitable & necessary change to Society & its economics. Just starting to clean the place up is a huge job in its self.

If we keep fretting the details we'll never get anywhere & we will miss an opportunity to make a semi controlled future for ourselves rather than a descent into Chaos.
The Heart is the drum keeping time for everyone....
