    Manapouri: Crap food warning

Went for a pootle out to Manapouri yesterday evening, and missed the chip shop by 5 min so went to the pub for a feed of fish and chips, and it was crap. So be warned, if you miss the chippy, go to Te anau instead.

Seems a bit far (and expensive) for me to travel should I miss the "chippy", think I'll just pick something else locally instead

But it would be a great ride, you would be F'ing hungry by the time you got there but the Manapouri chippie might be open again by that time.

New owners at the chippy too, but they close at 5.30pm and we arrived at 5.23 pm and wouldn't serve us fish and chips, so not a good start for them either.

Best biker grub in Te Anau must be The Moose. It's worth bypassing Manapouri to go straight there.

Head into Te Anau via the waterfront and its on the right just before you turn into the main street.

Cheers, I think I know the one. I usually try to avoid Te anau but it may be the better option for food right now at least.

You can't have that atitude and expect to stay open long in a small town.... also, WTF! 5.30: do they have to go home and make dinner or something?
