Something that cooks food really quickly so you don't waste time waiting for an oven to get up to temperature.

I imagine that is not too far away, solar seems to of improved and gotten cheaper. I think it has to get a bit cheaper yet to be a viable option, but its coming.

    Germany does that well

I believe that there are certain grants for similar in the UK for listed buildings. Give it 20 or 100 years and it'll start to happen here too.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

The power lines in that bottom pic must be for putting power back into the grid ya think? I reckon it will be closer to the 20 yrs, hope its sooner though.

The top pic looks good with all the service lines underground, the way it all should be.

Yes, these are very interesting. We don’t have the tech to do this is the near future but it’s the next revolution in travel that will genuinely change the way we live and view the world. Vacuum tubes are possible and as you say could drastically reduce travel times. No more 24 hour flights to the other side of the world on dangerous fuel-filled aircrafts subject to weather conditions. Imagine travelling to the UK in under 30 mins! The only limitation is passenger comfort.

Let’s see... 3Gs acceleration to 12,000mph in 300 seconds to get to London in under an hour…. Then decelerate…. Someone clever will figure it out!

It will spell the end of stupidity. When your "Brainpal" flicks up definitions of all them fancy words your lawyer uses as he's saying them. How will we know who's stupid and who's not??? Car broken down - boom! Manual and guide pops up in your HUD...

I'm guessing it's both ways... coz it ain't always sunny. I prefer line above the ground as they're easier to see when they need fixing. Not sure how easy it is to detect a breakage when underground?

No trouble at all. Testers can give a distance from source to a fault accurately. So long as your plans are accurate, you pace it out, and dig.

These have been available for quite some time now but are still fraught with drawbacks and annoying faults. There's a really nice model here that's just come on the market.

Oh, how I'd love to make her gag.
