Coudn't see any other thread about this and don't want you guys here to miss out.

Just stumbled across this Trademe auction: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=611109951

It's just the most hilarious thing ever. The description as well as the Q&A bit. Brilliant!

    Great Post

This is likely to be no more than a user error and a bargain $500 printer for just $100.

My first suspicion, but I'm not entirely certain. Just dealt with a 8500 model for a client (they bought, not me, I saw the light on HP years ago). It works fine, people walk away to do other things, come back, won't print. Turn it off and on, works fine again, until it's quiet for a period. Hell, at times it won't even photocopy (ie, no computer influence). Circle comes up on screen of printer, and that's where functionality stops.

I think HP really screwed up with that OfficeJet era. Personally, I'd look at something like the Canon MX726... not even expensive, and toners cost a fraction of the HP ones.

Took some reading...funny. One guy was right, should turn it into a book.

We brought the exact same model of printer,W/H stationary and Hp couldn't get it to work so it was replaced with a cannon printer, W/H stationary said they had a few returned, so maybe it was a bad batch?

I did recognize the name of the winning bidder. Just an imposter or really someone from our own crazy community?

Anyway, I'm sure we will find out.

Nick has posted this on his blog:

"My out of control auction for a demon printer that got over a million views is now over.

And - YESSSS - the winning bidder wants it destroyed.

We'll be on SEVEN SHARP tomorrow night. Keep watching.
    "

Does that make me weird that I want to watch it?

Giddy up, yes I have just bought a printer I will never use but get to see it destroyed on national tele will justify that... Was invited down there to witness it but bit short notice... Nick wouldn't tell me what they gonna use cos the bulldozer was unavaliable but assured me it should be quite spectacular

I wasn't going to buy it but when i heard that the fucktard that had the top bid and was willing to pay good money to actually use it for what it was designed for I had to say 'NO'

    P.s I hear it's cold down that way...well colder than here.. :/
