Yeah, we were out at pakiri doing high speed whoopde dos and he got it wrong. Lives at tomarata.

It was not the question of colour, it was the tone the question was asked in. Oh, and the only question he asked. Did not help that I was being a bit smart, as I tend to do when being patronised
I wanted a red one, and I told him so. Apparently there were none available, read, "in stock at Suzuki NZ". However, that was wrong, I had done my homework you see. I knew where there was a "shiney red one" and asked him to do a dealer to dealer swap. Got to hate a smart arseNo hard feelings, it was all a bit of fun in the end, and I got my shiney red one

Blast from the past! Do I know you?
I believe he did some work experience for us. That is a long time ago.
I know who you mean. We sold the shop in 1992 so that must have happened after that.
You blokes really have no clue about the patronising attitudes of some people out there in regard to a woman riding a bike.
I personally wont take shit from anyone in that regard. Had I been in bossladys boots, I probably would have turned the bike around, gone back to the testing station and gone postal on the guys arse in person![]()
Simple question for the OP. Was the bike up to WOF standard with the back brake pedal travel as it was?
During your roasting of the station manager you would have asked that question.
You see its entirely possible that the lever travel was in fact concidered to be excessive(yes its actually in the Virm)
and you have just adjusted your riding to the way it has become as the shoes wear down. That would have meant a WOF fail.
If that is in fact the case then the mistake the "idiot" made was only not telling you the brake needed a little adjustment to get the bike its WOF.
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
I guess you missed my post (understandable) where the manager confirmed that the rear brake wasn't unwarrantable just that the guy decided it was in his opinion "sloppy" and of his own accord changed the adjustment on it. But I understand what you're suggesting I.e. that perhaps I was just used to it being that way. I have on at least one occasion gone for a semi descent ride on grashoppers gn and from memory the rear brake was similar to my own or at least nowhere near as firm as what mine had been adjusted to. Oh and I didn't roast the station manager, I had an adult type discussion with him, lol.

We may have spoken.I used your shop from time to time, as I was living in Whangaripo and Pakiri around late 80,s early 90,s. I was on either a New XR 600 OR a new XL 250, and had a bright green mowhawk. Most weekends I would of been at the dirtcar track at Leigh or tomarata.
As you were.![]()

No Mc in my name, just a big H. If you know any of the Swanberg clan up that way, they will tell you what an asshole I am.![]()

He would have adjusted it because it's a common thing with cars to adjust drum brakes (as I said in an earlier post), he probably thought he was doing you a favor, they usually just fail cars for it then the person has to go find a mechanic (who could easily over charge a woman) for a job that can be completed within 5 minutes.
Yes he should have told you and noted it on the WOF sheet but not really worth this amount ranting.
In regard to your later post about how hard it is to be a woman. Get the fuck over it, there's plenty of ways you can use that fact to your advantage (he probably "fixed" your brakes because you are female he wanted to help you) just be happy you don't live in Iraq or some shit.
Do you feel better now? got that off your breasts? here's hoping no one ever fucks with your bike with unpleasant consequences. You do know we're talking about a motorbike, right? and you do realise this is a testing station, not a mechanics, right? you'll note most of this thread has nothing to do with my OP and a lot of the rest of it is wankers like you having a whinge too. The brake was not in an unwarrantable state so no, it wouldn't have failed a wof and no, I wouldn't have gone to a bike mechanic when I can turn one bolt by myself? As for your other comment how about You get over it and don't make presumptions about women? better yet, grow a vagina, or maybe you already have one? sure sounds like it.
