Good job they play soccer over here and the US, coz the rest of the world plays football. Some play very well at times. Mon the Reds.

The unanswered question .... why were his team's own fans heckling him about such a thing?

(Must say though, in my cricket team we sledged each other more than the opposition)

I think I would have too if my mother had only just recently pass away. not much he could do about it. HTFU.... is crap in this situation, still feel for the guy though. then again I'm just a big softy.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

That is pretty disrespectful, and not in a funny way.

It's not uncommon these days. Arseholes say what they want, for personal kicks, then tell the victim to HTFU.

Blame the victim. The arsehole is just exercising "free speech", or, "it was just a joke". Trolling for LOLs. Ha ha.

I'm sick of it. There are people on KB who are on my ignore list by way of posting mysoginistic or XYZphobic "jokes" in the "jokes and humour" section. But that's my fault, isn't it, for reading the posts of course. And since they were "just jokes" no harm was "really meant". Sure.

The safety of being an anonymous member of the crowd, or at the end of an ADSL line. Let's see one of them brave fuckers say that stuff, alone, in the players face.

Shoulda turned the water cannons on the football fans (in this story). Arseholes.

    Agree.

And some stuff is sacred, like not dissing mothers[esp deceased], kids or wife

Benji Marshall copped an earful in front of the nation a few years back, and he hasnt returned to his worlds best form.

Cricket is fairly full of asshole stuff, Jesse Rider copped a serious head knock and personal grievances and abuse seem to dominate the sport

I've teased and bullied people in my time. As I get older I understand more deeply that it was a reaction to being teased and bullied myself; and feeling safe becoming one of the crowd teasing someone else.

As I mature (my wife already thinks I smell like ripe cheese) and get "wiser" with age, I more and more just want everyone to treat each other decently.

(Except people who can't merge. Those fuckers ought to be hung.)

You can use the "crybaby" emoticon all you want. Meh. You'll either grow up or not. Funnily enough it's a choice.
