He can buy three of em. When one breaks down in two weeks, don't bother fixing it. Just ride another one!

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Or just the one, and invest the change for when he finishes studies...

Hookers & blow would be ideal investments, and he could use a little for frivolous indulgences.

Maybe better than a GN and still under budget?

    Different league to be honest.

My Hornet has 115k, one mate has done around 100k I think, another mates has 150k, and the top miler I know is Warr's, at 230k ish, but he's done some work on it's gears and stuff... Salesman agrees with me, we've actually got no idea how long they last, as we don't know any that have failed.

Detuned sportsbike engine was a great idea City work is harder than top gear country running... mine has barely left the city since it had 26k on the clock.

If you're set on a 600 the Zukis are the best buying at the moment.
Otherwise I'd go with a 636, or a 6RR (if you can find one for that money) the 06 6RR had radial brakes, better suspenders, forged pistons and a cassette gearbox, which of course is useful on the road. Some 6RR models had an adjustable swing arm pivot, not sure if the '06 does (can confirm next week, have one coming in to the workshop) and they're a very nice bike to ride.

'05 onwards R6, I personally like the '05 model best, the '06 was the newer spastic revvy one which is lacking in normal power, even by 600 standards. The '05 was (IIRC the year they went to USD forks.

'05-6 cbr6, lovely bikes in the real world. People will tell you they are boring, but they're the nicest to ride IMO of the 600s in that era.

But, you'll get a newer, better 'zuki for the same dosh.

    Orrrrrr, find a nice GSX-R750

Looks alright, but I'd reeeeally rather a K4/K5 GSXR for a little bit more cash, nothing currently availability for <$6k though.

I did consider a VFR400, but I'm keen to give fuel injection a go. Last 3 bikes have been carbed, and while it was fun tinkering with them, it did take up a bit of time.

Fair point. At 54k mines just a baby in comparison.
